Going green, and doing good: How we made "Totes for Trees" a success!

By Katherine McCollough and Morgan Whittlesey, age 11

"Totes for trees" was a really simple, earth-friendly idea! Our idea was to make cute, reusable bags that are used to help save the earth. Some of the themes for the bags were Halloween, Earth and peace signs. Our friends love them and we love doing something good for the earth.

LESSON LEARNED:

Doing good and doing well CAN go together. Kids love to buy products that help save the earth!

How about hat?

Scary-smart: Meet Cate and Abbey, the creators of Boo Birds!

"We saw flamingos that someone had given us and decided that they would make cute Halloween decorations. Boo Birds taught us to find something unique, sell it at a good price, and make sure the costs are low. To be successful you have to have a product that other people want to buy. We sold all of our "Boo Birds" because they were cute and different, but not random. Also, I learned that if you are selling something that people don't need you have to make sure they notice you!"
